White Rum

Warehouse No. 1 NYE/WK White Overproof Rum is an unaged rum from the New Yarmouth Distillery in Jamaica. It is distilled from molasses using the Pot Still process and belongs to the category of so-called high ester rums. The designation "NYE/WK" refers to a specific brand within the distillery, whose ester content is around 900-1,000 g/hlpa (grams per hectolitre of pure alcohol). This chemical composition ensures a pronounced flavour density, but remains below the extreme concentrations of the DOK category. The rum is not stored in barrels, but is bottled directly after distillation with an alcohol content of around 63% vol. It therefore retains its full, distillative profile without the influence of wood maturation and reflects the fermentation and distillation technique of the New Yarmouth Distillery in its purest form. The New Yarmouth Distillery is located in Clarendon, Jamaica, and is known for producing rums with different ester profiles. It is owned by the J. Wray & Nephew Group and also produces ingredients for well-known brands such as Wray & Nephew White Overproof. NYE/WK bottling is not usually produced for commercial retail, but is mainly used in the independent bottling scene and in specialist circles. Bottled under the Warehouse No. 1 brand, this rum has been made available not only to professional mixologists, but also to curious amateur bartenders.

Due to its high alcohol content and intense flavour profile, this rum is primarily suitable for use in the bar, especially in classic tiki and tropical cocktails.

Warehouse No. 1 TECC-nical Ecstasy White Overproof Rum comes from the Long Pond Distillery in Jamaica and belongs to the TECC marque, one of the distillery's most ester-rich product categories. The rum is produced using the traditional Pot Still method from molasses, with fermentation taking place using wild yeasts and lasting several days (around 30-45 days). This slow, open fermentation is characteristic of the Long Pond distillery and contributes significantly to the formation of a high ester content. The TECC rum reaches values of around 1,400-1,600 g/hlpa (grams per hectolitre of pure alcohol), which places it in the class of so-called "continental flavoured rums", which were originally designed for export to Europe. It is bottled directly after distillation, without ageing in barrels, with an alcohol content of around 63% vol. As a white overproof rum, it fully retains the sensory characteristics of fermentation and distillation, without the influence of wood or ageing. The Long Pond Distillery is located in Trelawny, in the north-west of Jamaica, and is one of the few remaining distilleries in the country that produce exclusively using the Pot Still method. It was founded in the 18th century and has always been known for its high-ester rums, which play a central role in the British rum tradition in particular. The "TECC-nical Ecstasy" bottling was released under the Warehouse No. 1 brand and is a tribute to this traditional production method.

The rum is primarily used in mixology, where it serves as an aromatic element in complex cocktail recipes due to its intensity, as the intense flavour profile and high alcohol concentration are less designed for pure enjoyment and more suitable as a secret ingredient for cocktails.

The Habitation Velier - Distillerie de Port au Prince is a Haiti Pure Single Rhum and is distilled from freshly pressed juice of the Cristalline sugar cane variety. It is fermented for 10 to 12 days and distilled twice. It is then bottled with an ester content of 289g per hectolitre and 59% vol. Despite the higher ester and alcohol content, it is smooth yet lively on the tongue and palate.

Le Réjéton Blanc Rhum by Papa Rouyo is the result of the blending of white rums obtained from different distillations. The now second batch consists of a base of the original Le Rejeton with 10% overripe and 90% fresh sugar cane, with a dominant proportion of red sugar cane R579. At Papa Rouyo, great importance is attached to the traceability of the rums. The selection of the raw materials, the climate and the soils of Guadeloupe, as well as the different phases of production underline this effort for transparency. Botucal Planas Blanco is named after the area near the Botucal distillery in the foothills of the Andes. There it matures for up to six years in white oak barrels and undergoes elaborate charcoal filtering to give it its clear colour. Thanks to its rich blend, Planas Blanco offers an unexpected variety of flavours and aromas.

Mother Mesccia Pure Single Rum is the result of an extraordinary collaboration between Prince Albert II of Monaco and rum expert Luca Gargano. It combines the natural originality of Haiti with the precise craftsmanship of Monaco. Its base is the Cristalline sugar cane from Michel Sajous in Saint-Michel-de-l'Attalaye, Haiti. After a long, natural fermentation process, the rum is traditionally distilled over a wood fire before being distilled a second time in Monaco's only distillery. The result is a fresh, floral rum with elegant notes of acacia honey and white pepper. The idea for Mother Mesccia harks back to Monaco's historic "mesccia" tradition from the 17th century, in which Caribbean rum was married with Marsala or Vermouth. This tradition is continued in a modern form and forms the basis of a new series of bottlings to be matured in liqueur wine barrels. Mother Mesccia is the first of these editions and symbolises the combination of origin, craftsmanship and history.

The Papa Rouyo Vwayaj Rhum from Guadeloupe is a Rhum Agricole de Terroir. The special thing about this rhum is that no sugar or chill filtration is added and the fresh juice from sugar cane, some of which is home-grown, is distilled in alambic stills, which are rare in Guadeloupe. The sugar cane variety used, B 80.0689, grows exclusively on the Atlantic Ocean.

Chalong Bay Rum is made from 100% natural first-pressed sugar cane, without fertilisers or additives, in collaboration with local Thai farmers. Handcrafted in small batches using a traditional distillation process with an imported French copper still for a particularly mild tropical Taste, this rum from Thailand presents a refreshing profile characterised by coconut and spicy accents with sweet notes. The summery white rum is particularly suitable for mixing mojitos and daiquiri cocktails.
