Aroma Sweet smoke and caramel sweets with vanilla, dried dark fruits and spicy black pepper as well as a hint of flambéed oranges.
Taste Tobacco leaves, dark caramel and cocoa. In the background sweet peat smoke and earthy undertones as well as light herbal notes.
Finish Long and soft with salted caramel, liquorice and lingering spicy notes.

Product description
1770 Glasgow comes from the Scottish city of the same name. The Glasgow Distillery Company was founded in 2014 and is the first single malt distillery in Glasgow since 1902. Following the old tradition, single malt is now again produced there from Scottish barley and water from Loch Katrine. The smoky Rich and Smoky bottling is matured in fresh white oak casks and PX sherry casks for a mature and fruity character.

    Kommentar: Für mich derzeit der liebste Standard bei 1770.

    Aroma: Sweet Fruit Peat Smoke Ham Maritime Notes Citrus Süß nach dunklen roten Früchten. Aber auch ein wenig maritim nach feuchtem Moos und speckigem Rauch. Nach einer Weile entfalten sich noch Zitrusnoten.

    Geschmack: Sweet Nuts Spices Peat Smoke Oak Süß und nussig mit dezenter Würzigkeit. Dazu wieder der aromatische Rauch und etwas frische Eiche.

    Abgang: Sweet Sherry Peat Smoke Spices Herb Oak Süße Sherrynoten, gekonnt verwoben mit dem Rauch. Die Gewürze gehen nun in Richtung schwarzer Pfeffer über. Eine herbe Trockenheit macht sich breit und Eichenfracht lässt grüßen.

    Kommentar: sehr schön, gefällt mir eine wenig besser als die ungetorfte Variante. Denn hier stört mich die Virgin Oak Note weitaus weniger. Preislich vielleicht kein Schnäppchen, aber die Qualität stimmt zumindest.

    Kommentar: der Whisky hat mich sehr positiv überrascht. Der Rauch ist kräftig, aber nicht zu aufdringlich; gut in die anderen Aromen eingebunden. Süße, Frucht, Kräuter. Nach der Miniatur folgte nun die normale Flasche

    Geschmack: Würzig intensiv und rauchig Peat Smoke Spices

    Abgang: lang mit Karamell und rauchig. Caramel Peat Smoke

    Kommentar: einer meiner Favoriten, da ich rauchige und nach Karamell riechende/schmeckende Whiskys schätze. Der steht auf jeden Fall auf der Wiederholungsliste :-)

    Aroma: Rauchig und süß – BBQ, Honig, Vanille und ein Hauch Zitrus.

    Geschmack: Weich, leicht ölig, mit Torf, Karamell, dunklem Zucker und etwas Gewürz.

    Abgang: Mittellang, rauchig-würzig mit süßem Nachklang.

    Kommentar: Junger, moderner Peated mit richtig guter Balance. Rauch ja – aber charmant, nicht brachial. Der Name hält, was er verspricht: rich & smoky!
