The 8-year-old Yeun Elez Triple Cask is an outstanding Single Malt Whisky from Brittany that impresses whisky lovers worldwide with its intense smokiness and complex cask maturation. Produced by the Warenghem distillery, this Breton malt is based on Scottish barley malt with a peat smoke content of 50 ppm and is distilled twice in traditional copper stills. Yeun Elez is particularly full of character thanks to its maturation in a total of three different types of cask. Bourbon, Sauternes and STR barrels were used, all of which were filled in October 2016.STR stands for "Shaved, Toasted and Recharred", whereby the inner walls of the barrels are scraped, toasted and charred again after the first use, creating intense flavours of smoke, vanilla and spices. This triple-cask finish ensures a harmonious combination of smoky, sweet and fruity notes. The limited small batch bottling makes the Yeun Elez a coveted collector's item. Named after the mystical Yeun Elez moorland in Brittany, the whisky reflects the rugged, legendary landscapes where peat is traditionally cut. At 57.8% vol., the Yeun Elez Triple Cask 8 Ans offers a powerful, complex flavour that will delight both connoisseurs and newcomers to the world of smoky Single Malts. As the future core product of the Armorik range, this whisky stands for masterful Breton craftsmanship and exceptional enjoyment.
