Product description
The Arran Rare Batch French Oak is a handcrafted Single Malt that contains no artificial colourings and does not lose any flavours through cold filtration. The limited edition combines some of the rarest casks from the Arran Distillery to create a unique bottling of just 4,198 bottles. The island whisky was initially matured for seven years in bourbon casks before being aged for a further eight years in French grand cru oak casks, which were previously used to mature high-quality white wines from a renowned region in north-east France. The result is a 15-year-old Single Malt that reflects the special characteristics of these exceptional casks. The Rare Batch series thus offers access to cask variants that are not normally used in standard maturation and allows Single Malt connoisseurs to delve deeper into the distillery's range and discover some of its most valuable stocks. Arran's Rare Batch bottlings are bottled at cask strength from special casks.

The Distillery:
The Lochranza distillery is located on the Isle of Arran, after which it was initially named. In 2019, Lagg, the second distillery on the island, opened. As a result, Arran renamed itself Lochranza to better distinguish it. However, the Single Malt Whisky is still available under the Arran brand.
