Aroma Dark berries, ripe cherries and red fruits combine with strong peat smoke, chocolate and a fine woody spice.
Taste Complex and intense with sweet port wine fruit, dark chocolate and smoky, earthy notes. Clear and smoky structure supported by velvety sweetness.
Finish Very long and fruity-smoky with notes of dark berries, cocoa and dry oak.

Product description
At 58.9% vol., the Ballechin 17 Year Old First Fill Ruby Port Hogshead combines strong Highland peat with the deep sweetness and fruitiness of a Ruby Port cask. Flavours of dark berries, ripe cherries and chocolate merge with smoky, earthy notes and a fine woody spiciness. The result is a particularly complex Single Malt with a velvety texture and a long, fruity and smoky finish. The Ballechin Single Malts from the traditional Edradour Distillery stand for intensely peated Scotch Whisky with a clear, smoky style and a phenol content of at least 50 ppm. As the distillery's peated line with a strong character, they are aimed at lovers of strong, smoky Single Malts with a clear peat profile and structured flavour. All bottlings appear in Signatory Vintage's Cask Strength Collection and are consistently bottled at cask strength, without chill-filtration and without colouring. This ensures that the unadulterated character of the selected casks is fully preserved.
