Product description
Blanton's Straight from the Barrel is an undiluted and unfiltered Kentucky Straight Bourbon that is bottled directly from a single barrel and offers an intense flavour experience. The Bourbon was matured in Warehouse H, which is exposed to significantly greater temperature fluctuations due to the metal walls, which intensify the maturation process and lead to a pronounced variety of flavours. This Bourbon epitomises the heritage and craftsmanship of Blanton's. Neither diluted nor chill-filtered, it was produced at the Buffalo Trace Distillery and is part of the Blanton's series, which has become known for its single barrel Bourbons. The whiskey matured in heavily burnt American white oak barrels, resulting in a powerful, complex Bourbon with notes of dark chocolate, roasted nuts, vanilla, dried fruit and distinct oak spice. An intense Bourbon for experienced connoisseurs and a must for all Kentucky Straight Bourbon fans.

Aroma:
Geschmack:
Abgang:

Aroma: like fruit, a hint of herbs, and spinces
Taste: and a taste that is like a mature, refined and bold yet subtle tasts, almost like it is in contrast to the initial smell -- but a bit of water, or even a cube of ice, it seem to cool do to the wise whiskey that it is at it's true depth -- and it's deep. Oh yes.
Finish: Dry, leaving you wanting more -- much more.haba.. nom a nice mellow tingle at first if you didn't add much water, and a brilliance, something you omnly rarely stumble upon...
Comment: Thanks for making such a great whiskey!

I know this is a single barrel whisky. The taste and quality differs from barrel to barrel. 'Dumped on' 2nd of April '25, Barrel nr. 515 @ 127,6 proof. My goodness, this drinks HOT. I prefer barrel proof whisk(e)y but this.. Oof.. Taste wise, for this price I really expected something exceptional, but it's REALLY a let down @ €153. Blanton's Gold is my favorite bourbon out of the 50 or so bottles that I have. SFTB is so spicy and watered down to 55ish % or so it's so incredibly underwhelming (tried with water first before trying barrel proof). As in, Buffalo Trace 40% (€20) quality. For this price I'd rather have two JD SBBP or Elijah Craig C922 bottles. Heck, I'd rather have a bunch of Eagle Rare bottles for this price.
Also, I get the whole SFTB shtick but there is so much gunk (charcoal) in it, BT could've put it through a paper filter or something..
What a let down.

This comes across as a midpoint between the best ECBP batches and the stronger Stagg Jr releases, with excellent viscosity and a velvety mouth-coating. It opens on honeyed sweetness, moves through cherry, red fruit, and nutmeg-driven spice, and finishes on sweet oak with intense warmth — hot, but in a very pleasant way.
