The basis for Born Irish 80 Proof is a blend of triple-distilled malt and grain whiskey. The whiskey matured in heavily burnt first-fill bourbon barrels is then refined with stout beer and an infusion of chocolate malt and roasted barley.

Kommentar: (Subjektives Empfinden): Das Aroma verspricht tatsächlich Schokolade, am ehesten Zartbitter-Schokolade und auch Kaffeenoten sind da, das Aroma ist sehr angenehm und anregend. Geschmacklich führt anfangs jedoch erst eine leichte Alkoholnote, erst später setzt im Abgang kaffee- und Schokoladengeschmack ein. Ein spannendes Experiment, mir aber zu ungünstig im Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.
