Bowmore Dark & Intense is one of three Bowmore bottlings that were re-released in Travel Retail at the beginning of 2017. The 10-year-old single malt in a litre bottle was matured in sherry and bourbon casks.

    Kommentar: Dark & Intense ist hier sprichwörtlich Programm. Während die Tabaknoten im Aroma noch etwas dezent sind und eher sogar salzig-minziges Aroma in der Nase erkennbar ist, werden die Tabaknoten im Geschmack und Abgang deutlich stärker. 3,5 Sterne auch wegen gutem PLV.

    Kommentar: In der Nase der typische Bowmore-Geruch, wirkt geschmacklich aber aufgrund der nur 40% etwas dünn. Ein Whisky mit guten Anlagen, aber ich bevorzuge dann der 12y.

    Kommentar: Eigentlich reicht ein Wort für diesen Whisky: Sherry. Ein wunderschönes Bouquet aus holzigem Bourbon und wunderschönen Sherry. Der Geschmack im Mund erinnert an den 15 jährigen Bowmore, jedoch mit deutlich leichterem Rauch und dafür noch mehr Süße. Am Krassesten kommt die Süße durch, wenn man ihn im Anschluss an den 12 jährigen Bowmore probiert. Ein wunderschöner Whisky, der für seine Qualität auffallend preiswert ist. Ein Muss für jeden, der sherryfassgereifte Whiskys mag.
