Product description
The Bowmore Deep & Complex whisky is matured exclusively in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The 18-year-old Islay malt was originally bottled for the travel retail sector, but the bottling has been available to the general public for some time now. The Deep & Complex impresses with Bowmore's characteristic fine smoky facets, elegant fruity notes and a hint of chocolate at a pleasant drinking strength of 43% vol.

    Kommentar: Leider für mich eine totale Enttäuschung, der Standart 18er ist hier komplexer. Hier ist nichts mit komplex. In der Nase ist er eher flach, da kommt nicht viel außer Süße und ein bisschen Sherry sowie Rauch. Im Mund dann das selbe, da fehlt einfach was. Man merkt das die Fässer nicht die erste Wahl sind, da konnten auch die 18 Jahre nicht mehr viel raus ziehen. Der Abgang ist dann auch nur kurz, und bleibt nicht wirklich im Gedächnis.
    48% wären hier vielleicht die bessere Stärke gewesen, ich empfinde die Bowmore eh als zu schwach abgefüllt, aber hier merkt man es massiv.

    Sehr schade, aber ich bevorzuge die Standart 18er Abfüllung.
