Casamigos Añejo is the tequila for anyone who likes it full-bodied - but doesn't want to compromise on style. This fine drop was born from the friendship between George Clooney, Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman, who simply wanted to create their own, perfectly harmonised tequila. Casamigos Añejo is produced in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico - the heart of tequila. The base consists of 100% Blue Weber agaves that have been matured for at least 7 years before being harvested by hand by experienced jimadores (agave farmers). After cooking in traditional ovens, milling and mashing, the particularly long fermentation process of 80 hours follows - significantly longer than the average of 48 hours. This ensures more depth, complexity and character in the later distillate. The raw spirit is then slowly distilled twice so that all the flavours can develop perfectly. The Añejo is aged for 14 months in carefully selected ex-bourbon barrels made from American oak.
