Product description
The Glen Scotia First Fill Ruby Port Cask was matured for 9.5 years in first-fill bourbon casks and received a 6-month finish in first-fill ruby port hogsheads. The Single Malt was left to rest for a month in refill bourbon casks to harmonise it. The bouquet and taste are characterised by this cask finish and feature fruity, floral facets. A subtle and balanced chocolate note in the finish rounds off this single malt. The 10-year-old was neither chill-filtered nor coloured and bottled at 46% exclusively for Whisky.de. Glen Scotia is one of three still active distilleries in Campbeltown. The elegant bottle comes in a slim tube. Exclusively for CLUB members! This item is reserved for our club customers.     Aroma: Jung, frisches Malz, Port/Sherry, Erdbeerpudding, junge rote Früchte, kalte raue See am Hafen.

    Geschmack: Rotes Malz (fruchtig eingefärbtes Getreide), sanfte Aromen einer Schiffswerft (noten von Stahl, kalter See, altes öliges Holz), Eiche hält sich eher im Hintergrund.

    Abgang: Eiche wird deutlicher, der Campbeltown Charakter macht sich breit, mittellang bis lang.

    Kommentar: So ca. mit 16 Jahren wär der echt gut.

    Aroma: Spices Sweet relativ schwach in der Nase, wird nach dem ersten Schluck besser. Mit der Zeit kommt die Himbeere durch (oder Erdbeere?)

    Geschmack: Oak Berries Strawberry Sweet ganz leichter Rauch, etwas phenolisch, aber kaum wahrnehmbar. Süffig, der Porteinfluss kommt durch und es kommt die Beere durch

    Abgang: Sherry Raisin angenehm süß, würzig

    Kommentar: insgesamt ein solider und guter Whisky, kritisch sehe ich , dass er in der Nase und im Geschmack etwas "dünn" wirkt. Gesamt aber echt gut, vielleicht etwas teuer. Mag den Porteinfluss.
