Product description
This limited special bottling from Glen Scotia is the third of a total of 5 releases in the rare Icons of Campbeltown series. The Campbeltown Single Malt was matured for 9 months in Tawny Port Cask, having previously been aged for over 10 years in hand-selected Bourbon barrels. The third edition, The Wulver, bears the name of a gloomy figure from Campbeltown folklore. A werewolf is depicted on the label and packaging, shown fishing with a wooden spear. According to tradition, he lived in seclusion in a cave that no-one dared to enter. There he spent his days in solitude and devoted himself to fishing, before selflessly sharing his catch with the poorest members of the Campbeltown community. He thus became a folkloric symbol of the town. Without ever asking for thanks or anything in return, he embodied a quiet willingness to help - an attitude that characterises Campbeltown to this day and lives on in the heart of the town. This Glen Scotia was bottled at cask strength and without chill-filtering in its natural colour. The Wulver combines flavours of red fruits, wild berries and dark chocolate with a maritime character that leaves no doubt as to which distillery the limited edition comes from.
