Aroma Strong and herbal, with notes of toffee accompanied by incense and saddle soap, followed by a resinous note and a hint of cedar.
Taste A peppery mouthfeel leads to tangy oranges and bitter cherries, as well as fennel and oak.
Finish Long and gently nutty, with notes of almond, mandarin, ground white pepper and resin.

With Glenmorangie A Tale of Tokyo, the distillery from the Highlands once again demonstrates its love of experimentation. Master Blend Dr Bill Lumsden wanted to capture his experience of the many sensory dimensions of Tokyo and experimented with the rare Japanese Mizunara oak casks for the first time. The result for this limited edition is a cask combination of Mizunara oak, sherry and Bourbon casks that perfectly matches Glenmorangie's house style. Inspired by the contrasts and layers of the city's history and culture, Akira Whisky was brought to life in visual form in collaboration with the famous Japanese artist Yamaguchi.

    Aroma: Kräftiger Antritt mit Holznoten und Gewürzen, leicht pfeffrig.

    Geschmack: Würzig, etwas herb, dazu ein bisschen Sherryanklang.

    Abgang: Angenehm wärmend, kräftig, lang anhaltend.

    Kommentar: Anders als die meisten Whiskys, aber immer wieder lecker.

    Kommentar: Sehr komplex, feines Spiel zwischen Würze und Eiche, Kräutern und Früchten, wobei der Schwerpunkt eher auf dem Holz liegt. Ist das tatsächlich die Mizunara-Eiche, die diesen Whisky von anderen Glenmorangie's unterscheidet?
