    Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel ist für mich ein ehrlicher Tennessee Whiskey mit Charakter – schweres Glas, Stopfen, klares Etikett, sofort Ritual-Stimmung. Intensiv, würzig, Vanille/Karamell, pur, gesmoked oder mit Cola – alles möglich. Ich habe mit diesem Whiskey mein altes Old No.7 Trauma überwunden: er zeigt, dass Jack auch erwachsen, handwerklich und ehrlich sein kann. Wer auf Single Malts oder torfige Islays steht, mag ihn „weniger komplex“ finden, aber für Fans ehrlicher amerikanischer Whiskeys liefert er einen echten Moment im Glas.

    Kommentar: Wer richtig süße, karamellige Whiskeys mag wird hier fündig. Dieser Tennessee Whiskey überraschte mich positiv als Bourbon Freund, wen man den Ruf von Jack Daniels als Massenproduzent betrachtet. Eine kaum bemerkbare alkoholische Schärfe dürfte ihn für das breite Publikum bekömmlich machen. Es gibt sicher deutlich Bessere aber das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist auch nicht das Schlechteste.
