Product description
The heavy wooden boat Kirk & Sweeney was best known for smuggling rum during Prohibition. It was used to smuggle rum and spirits from the north-east of the Caribbean to the USA. In 1924, the boat was confiscated off the coast of New York with a huge quantity of rum on board. The boat was subsequently renamed "Chase" and served in Coast Guard training until the late 1940s. Reserva Rum is made from a by-product of sugar cane. The 'blackstrap molasses' is fermented with the greatest care and then distilled. The rums mature for between three and 14 years in oak barrels and are then blended together.

The Distillery:

The roots of the Bermúdez Rum Distillery go back to 1852, when Don Erasmo Bermúdez developed an alcoholic drink for medicinal purposes in Santiago de los Caballeros. This marked the beginning of a success story that led to the founding of ‘La Sin Rival’ - the oldest spirits factory in the Dominican Republic. Today's distillery bears the name J. Armando Bermúdez and produces the popular Kirk & Sweeney Rum, among other things. read more

Aroma: Dark Chocolate Coffee Sweet Honey Tropical Fruit ein sehr feines Aroma in Abwechslung mit süßen und herben Noten, sehr schön! die tropischen Anklänge sind herrlich.

Geschmack: Almonds Oil Chocolate Fruit Sweet ein warmer und öliger Film belegt den Gaumen, alles sehr ausgewogen und doch etwas komplex. Besonders der schokoladige Akzent ist konstant.

Abgang: Oil Nutmeg Sweet Dark Chocolate Tropical Fruit warm, ölig und süß. Fruchtige Anklänge und ein Hauch Muskat.

Kommentar: ein super Rum bei dem der Preis mehr als stimmt! Würde Ihn immer wieder kaufen.

Aroma: Süße Anklänge von Rohrhonig mit erdigen Untertönen von Zuckerrohr verbinden sich mit einem Hauch von Vanille, üppiger gerösteter Eiche, Karamell und getrockneten Früchten.

Geschmack: Weiche und süße Facetten von Nektar treffen auf Vanillenoten und feine Akzente von Eichenholz und Vanille.

Abgang: Anhaltend weich und lang.
