The Scottish Malt Whisky distillery Lagavulin is located on the south side of the island of Islay, between the Laphroaig and Ardbeg distilleries. Lagavulin, pronounced Lagga-voulin, comes from Gaelic and roughly means “hollow by the mill”. Founded in 1816 by John Johnston, the Lagavulin distillery is owned by the Diageo group and its whiskies are part of its Classic Malts Selection. read more

    Geschmack extremer Pfeffer. Irgendwas unrundes schmeckt man.
    Der 16 jährige ist deutlich besser.
    Aber interessant. Die erste 10 jährige Standardabfüllung die ich kenne.

    Preis schon heftig im Vergleich zum 16 jährigen.

    Kommentar: Süß für einen Lagavulin, etwas wässrig. Deutliche Vanillenote und grüner Apfel. Im Vergleich zum 8-, 16-jährigen und den Distillers Editions mit Altersangaben fällt er ab. Preislich mehr als ambitioniert. Die lagavulin-typische Schinkennote ist am nächsten Morgen im leeren Glas deutlich zu riechen.
