This bottling of Lagavulin belongs to the Distillers Edition of the Classic Malts of Scotland. The Single Malt was matured twice for at least three months in Pedro Ximenez Seasoned American Oak Casks. The powerful, dry and maritime character of the Lagavulin is complemented here by rich, sweet flavours.

Lagavulin
The Scottish Malt Whisky distillery Lagavulin is located on the south side of the island of Islay, between the Laphroaig and Ardbeg distilleries. Lagavulin, pronounced Lagga-voulin, comes from Gaelic and roughly means “hollow by the mill”. Founded in 1816 by John Johnston, the Lagavulin distillery is owned by the Diageo group and its whiskies are part of its Classic Malts Selection. read more

    Kommentar: sorry, ich fühle mich voll verarscht. ich dachte ich kaufe die alte distillers edition, aber vorsicht - dieser hat mit dem alten 16er distillers nichts mehr zu tun - es gibt auch keine Altersangabe mehr auf der Flasche. Dies ist ein völlig überteuerter No-Ager mit wenig komplexität und übertriebenen simplen Aromen. Es hat den Anschein als würde man bewusst in die Irre führen wollen...... enttäuschend....

    Kommentar: Für mich und meinen Freund beim Tasting eine Enttäuschung, auch ist keine Jahrgangs- Angabe auf der Flasche. Leider habe ich gleich 2 Flaschen erworben. Meiner Meinung nach, auch nach dem 3ten Probieren, ist der 16er um Längen besser! Ich frage mich ob diese Edition überhaupt 16 Jahre hat? Ich würde diese Flasche nicht noch einmal kaufen.
