	Variety	Single Malt Whisky
	Aroma	Intense peat smoke, iodised sea breeze and charred oak, plus a fine, medicinal note (typical of Laphroaig). Underneath are subtle aromas of vanilla, roasted malt and citrus zest with seaweed flavours and liquorice.
	Taste	Powerful and oily with plenty of the Laphroaig peat smoke that fans love. This is followed by salty nuances, caramelised sugar, oak spice and a hint of pepper. Hints of dark chocolate and roasted nuts and campfire smoke in the background.
	Finish	Long, dry and warming, yet balanced and structured. Maritime smoke remains, but is accompanied by a light citrus sweetness with mineral accents.

The 12-year-old Laphroiag is an even more intense flavour experience than its two-year younger sibling. The longer maturation period in hand-selected American oak Bourbon casks has resulted in a Single Malt that is aimed at globetrotters and explorers. The Islay malt was therefore initially developed, bottled and launched exclusively for travel retail. 46% vol. without chill-filtering and no additional colouring make this Laphroaig an authentic taste experience for fans, enthusiasts and curious whisky connoisseurs. Ideal for anyone who wants to try something new: an Islay Single Malt with a little more depth. Whether neat, on ice or with a splash of water that releases notes of baked apple, heather honey and seaweed. Smoky and salty with a surprising sweetness.

The Distillery: Laphroaig

Laphroaig (pronounced 'La-froig') means 'the beautiful hollow by a broad bay' in Gaelic. The area around the distillery, which is located on the remote island of Islay (pronounced 'Ei-la') off the west coast of Scotland, is just as beautiful. Aroma: Intensiver Torfrauch, jodhaltiger Meeresbrise und verkohltes Eichenholz, dazu eine feine, medizinische Note (typisch für Laphroaig). Darunter liegen subtile Aromen von Vanille, geröstetem Malz und Zitruszesten mit Algenaromen und Lakritz.

Geschmack: Kraftvoll und ölig mit viel des von Fans geliebten Laphroaig-Torfrauchs. Es folgen salzige Nuancen, karamellisierter Zucker, Eichenwürze und ein Hauch Pfeffer. Im Hintergrund Anklänge von dunkler Schokolade und gerösteten Nüssen und Lagerfeuerrauch.

Abgang: Lang, trocken und wärmend, dabei ausbalanciert und strukturiert. Maritimer Rauch bleibt bestehen und wird jedoch von einer leichten Zitrus-Süße mit mineralischen Akzenten begleitet.
