With Laphroaig whisky, the extreme peat smoke develops into more complex flavours with increasing age. In addition to the oak notes from the long ageing process, these give the Single Malt significantly more depth and complexity. Not chill-filtered and therefore bottled at 48% vol.

The area around the distillery, which is located on the remote island of Islay (pronounced 'Ei-la') off the west coast of Scotland, is just as beautiful. Kommentar: Die erste Nase ist doch sehr kräftig und rauchig, Krankenhaus und Mullbinden sind noch deutlich zu riechen, hätte ich vorher nicht so erwartet. Im Mund kommen dann aber auch diese Anklänge von alten Bourbon Fass Reifungen, einfach lecker. Ansonsten hat er alles was ein anständiger Laphroaig hat und braucht.
Ein richtig gutes Ding. Den hätte ich damals auch eingelagert wäre ich da schon dabei gewesen.
Zu den heutigen teils sehr hohen Preisen nicht.
Dieser sehr gute Laphroaig bekommt 4,2 Sterne.
