Product description
This Linkwood is one of Gordon & MacPhail's distillery labels. The independent bottler bottled the Single Malts for the distillery decades ago. As the original bottler, he set aside the best casks for later times. In 2018, the complete Gordon & MacPhail range was relaunched and the Distillery Label range was also given a design makeover and now has a classic retro look.

Peter Brown founded the distillery in 1821. At its inception, the site had only two stills, and Whisky operation wasn't entirely legal yet. The distillery formally began operations in 1825, after Whisky distillation was legalized. Brown's original distillery operated with only one wash still and one spirit still. read more

    Kommentar: Ein schöner Linkwood mit leichten Sherrynoten und kräftiger Eiche im Abgang.
    15 Jahre Alter schmeckt man. Insgesamt ein rundes Ding dazu auch noch lecker.

    Abgang: fruchtig abklingend mit zunehmender Würze

    Kommentar: Selten so einen Unterschied zwischen dem ersten und dem zweiten Probieren erlebt. Ein Klasse Whisky ab dem zweiten Glas.

    Aroma: samtig, dunkel, schwarze Johannisbeere, Himbeer-Sherry-Samtigkeit, Kirschen, schwerer trockener Rotwein, leicht ein paar Rosinen, Trauben, Mandel-Marzipan, Orangat, getrocknete Aprikosen, ein paar Obstgarten-Früchte

    Geschmack: samtig, dann Fass, Früchte, Kirsche, dann Kakao, sanftes Mandel-Marzipan, leicht Tannine, dunkel, Sherry, Datteln, Beeren, Rosinen, Kräuter und Gewürze, kaum was von der Linkwood-eigenen, hellen Fruchtigkeit (Äpfel oder so)

    Abgang: oh schön, warm, viel fruchtiger Sherry, Oloroso, Weintrauben, Kakao, Kuchen, Holz; LANG!

    Kommentar: ein samtener, eleganter, schwerer, ruhiger, schöner Malt

    Kommentar: Günstiger konnte man einen so guten 15-jährigen kaum finden, jetzt ist der Preis innerhalb von 2 Jahren von 70 auf knapp 90 Euro gestiegen. Lohnt sich trotzdem.
