The Dark Brair from Lochlea's standard range is powerful and opulent. It matured in a combination of sherry and port casks and was inspired by the Fallow Edition from the independent farm distillery's seasonal releases. The whisky, made from 100% barley from the distillery's own harvest, was bottled after maturation at 46% vol. without chill-filtering and in its natural colour. The Dark Briar Single Malt presents its flavour profile with hints of juicy red fruits, some ginger cake and accents of baking spices.

The Distillery: Lochlea
Lochlea Distillery is an independent farm distillery in the Scottish Lowlands that has been producing Single Malt Scotch Whisky since 2018. The barley for its own Whisky production is grown on the extensive farmland in Ayrshire, ensuring complete traceability of the raw materials. The distillery combines agricultural tradition, sustainable production methods and modern distillation techniques. Lochlea also has close ties to the history of Scotland's national poet, Robert Burns, who spent several years on the farm in the 18th century.

Geschmack: bold, juicy flavour. The combined sherry and port influence gives depth and opulent fruity character
Abgang: the finish is long, rich and warmly spiced with soft oak notes
Kommentar: Lochlea Dark Brair is a strong example of modern Lowland whisky with heavily cask driven profile.

Geschmack: Das Weihnachtsgebäck ist wieder da, getrocknete Feigen, gelbe Pflaumen, dazu Gewürze wie Zimt und Nelken
Abgang: Ziemlich lang, die noten von Zimt und Nelken bleiben haften, dazu eine leichte Trockenheit der Eiche
