Product description
Meikle Tòir (pronounced "Mee-kuhl Tor") translates as "Great Mission" which Billy Walker and the team at Glenallachie are pursuing with these heavy and smoky Single Malts. The Speyside region from which the whiskies originate is not necessarily known for smoky Single Malts, but this series aims to change that to some extent. The malt for these special bottlings is kilned over mainland peat from St Fergus, which provides sweet smoky notes with oak flavours. The Sherry One is matured for 5 years in First Fill Bourbon Barrels, Pedro Ximénez & Oloroso Sherry Puncheons and is bottled with a PPM content of 35 PPM, no chill filtering and no artificial colouring.

Hier ist Preis-Leistung angemessen. Schöner Rauch, typisch für Glenallachie eine gewisse pfeffrige Schärfe und ein entsprechend stärkerer Antritt. Gefällt mir aber immer gut, da sie dadurch auch entsprechend Charakter besitzen. Nichts für einen Whisky "Neuling" meiner Meinung nach. Wer Rauch mag, kommt hier aber auf seine Kosten und durch die Sherry-Reifung eine tolle Süße!
