Mermaid Spiced Rum

The Mermaid distillery is located on the Isle of Wight in England and mainly produces authentic London Dry Gin. Now the distillery's first spiced rum is also available. Mermaid Spiced Rum is made from a carefully selected blend of sugar cane rum and Trinidad molasses from the Dominican Republic, which are distilled in column stills. The rum is then matured for 2 to 5 years in former Bourbon oak barrels. Both island blends travel from the Caribbean to the shores of the Isle of Wight, where they are infused with local fruits and spices. Included are fresh white cherries and apricots, honey from the island's beehives and black salt. Gently flavoured with local Herba Santa, cassia and vanilla, the result is a spiced rum that can be enjoyed neat or as an ingredient in cocktails.
