Michter's is one of the most traditional American Whiskey distilleries, with a history dating back to 1753. Founded by John Shenk in Pennsylvania, continued by Abraham S. Bomberger, marked by Prohibition and changes in ownership, it was given the name Michter's in the 1950s. In the 1990s, production was moved to Kentucky and modernised. It takes place at three locations: the Shively Distillery, the Fort Nelson Building and the farm near Springfield. read more

Whisk(e)y Neuling. Habe den Michters Bourbon direkt nach den Bulleit 10 Jahre verkostet. WOW! Ein Unterschied wie Tag und Nacht. Sehr lecker!

Aroma sehr mild: Ich rieche jedes Mal die Süße von Lakritze aber nicht unangenehm. Zimt, Erdnüsse, ganz leicht Eiche und ein Hauch von Schokolade. Der Geschmack kräftiger als das Aroma: Eiche, Walnuss, ganz leicht Leder. Der Abgang ist nicht viel anders. Leicht brennend aber nicht lang. Nach mehreren "Sips" kommt kurz eine ganz andere Süße im Abgang, die ich nicht zuordnen kann. Am besten beschreibt es Haushaltszucker.
