Product description
The St. Kilian distillery was built according to the Scottish model and has been in operation since 2016. It is distilled on 6,000 litre copper stills from the Scottish company Forsyths in Rothes. The local malt is milled in the in-house mill and then mashed. The 'Signature Edition One' is now the distillery's first Single Malt and was allowed to mature for three years in ex-Bourbon, rum, PX sherry and chestnut casks as well as ex-Bourbon quarter casks.

Aroma: Fruit Tropical Fruit Sweet Malt Floral Tatsächlich eine echte Fruchtbombe. Von hellen Früchten über Tropenfrüchte bis hin zu schon leicht vergorenen Früchten. In der Nase leicht stechende Zitrusfruchtigkeit, vermutlich der Jugend geschuldet. Nicht unbedingt völlig angenehm, aber doch so eigenwillig, dass es schon wieder interessant ist.

Geschmack: Sweet Fruit Malt Spices Wieder unglaublich süß und fruchtig, dazu dezent prickelnde Gewürze. Insgesamt leichter und schmeichlerischer, als die Nase erwarten ließ. Leider ohne allzu großen Tiefgang.

Abgang: Sweet Fruit Spices Oak Süß, fruchtig und jetzt schiebt auch eine dezente Eichenwürzigkeit nach. Aber es ist auch relativ schnell wieder weg.

Kommentar: besticht vor allem durch die ungewöhnliche Nase, leider kann dieses Versprechen aber danach nicht eingelöst werden. Dennoch ein interessanter Einblick, was hier irgendwann mit mehr Alter (und Tiefgang) möglich sein könnte.
