Mother Mesccia Pure Single Rum

Mother Mesccia Pure Single Rum is the result of an extraordinary collaboration between Prince Albert II of Monaco and rum expert Luca Gargano. It combines the natural originality of Haiti with the precise craftsmanship of Monaco. Its base is the Cristalline sugar cane from Michel Sajous in Saint-Michel-de-l'Attalaye, Haiti. After a long, natural fermentation process, the rum is traditionally distilled over a wood fire before being distilled a second time in Monaco's only distillery. The result is a fresh, floral rum with elegant notes of acacia honey and white pepper. The idea for Mother Mesccia harks back to Monaco's historic "mesccia" tradition from the 17th century, in which Caribbean rum was married with Marsala or Vermouth. This tradition is continued in a modern form and forms the basis of a new series of bottlings to be matured in liqueur wine barrels. Mother Mesccia is the first of these editions and symbolises the combination of origin, craftsmanship and history.
