This 15-year-old Old Pulteney has been part of the distillery's standard range since 2019. It was first matured in second-fill American white oak casks and then received a post-maturation in fresh Spanish Oloroso sherry casks.

Pulteney
For a long time Pulteney could be called the most northern distillery on the Scottish mainland. When Wolfburn Distillery in Thurso opened in 2013 they took over this title, but Pulteney hasn’t lost its attraction on Whisky lovers. The coastal style of the Old Pulteney Whisky (as the Whiskies from Pulteney are called) is a very unique one and the releases use to be very well judged by the Whisky experts. read more

Kommentar: Nicht schlecht, aber für den Preis zu unspektakulär. Weder besonders vielschichtig, noch Old Pulteney typisch, d. h. es fehlt die maritime Würze, die man bei den günstigeren Produkten findet und schätzt. Ein Beispiel dafür, dass Alter nicht zwangsläufig zu einer besonderen Reife führt.
