This award-winning Penderyn received a further maturation in wine casks after a bourbon cask ageing. The whisky was then bottled at a pleasant 46% vol.

The Penderyn distillery is located in the Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales. It works with a very special distilling process in a so-called Faraday Still, which has been custom-made for Penderyn. In addition to the 'original' distillery, another Penderyn distillery opened on the northern coast of Wales at Lloyd Street in Llandudno in 2021. read more

Aroma: Weich und süß. Früchte (eher tropische, Mango?), etwas Karamell.

Geschmack: Bäm! Nach dem äußerst gefälligen Aroma jetzt das! Unglaublich kräftig und würzig. Ja, auf jeden Fall auch Chili. Aber auch diese Süße und die Früchte aus dem Aroma sind deutlich zu schmecken.

Abgang: Mittel bis lang. Die Süße bleibt erhalten. Da ist aber auch trockene Eiche.

Kommentar: Vom Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis gehört dieser Whisky in die Oberklasse.
