To honour Alexandre Gabriel's 20th anniversary as Master Blend at Planteray, the Planteray XO h Anniversary was created from a combination of typical, extra old Barbados molasses. The rum first matures for many years in bourbon barrels in Barbados and is then transferred to the south-west of France to mature further in small French Ferrand barrels. The mix of so-called tropical ageing and continental ageing is a procedure that is over a hundred years old and is known as 'double ageing'. It gives the rum a balanced smoothness and complexity. The tropical ageing is 8 years before the continental ageing of 2 years follows. This includes new white oak barrels, bourbon barrels and ex-barrels from Ferrand for the final maturation.

Comment: simply my favorite rum, every sip is sweet and savory, I tried a lot of rum but this one is the one I always come back, there is no other like this.
