Rossville Union Straight Rye is produced in Lawrenceburg in the US state of Indiana from two mashbills. One mashbill consists of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, while the other contains 51% rye, 45% corn and 4% malted barley. The state in the Midwest of the USA was once considered the world centre of rye production. For 200 years, i.e. since before Prohibition in the USA, the master distillers and blenders there have been working on special rye whiskeys. The rye is matured for a full 7 years and is bottled at 112.6 barrels proof, which means 56.3% by volume.
