Scarabus Sherry Cask was bottled exclusively for the German market by Hunter Laing. Scarabus is the name of a mystical place on the Scottish island of Islay and means 'a rocky place'. The single malt from the independent bottler Hunter Laing from Glasgow is named after this place. As the name suggests, Sherry Cask matured in first-fill sherry casks. The anniversary whisky was bottled at 46% vol.

Kommentar: Sehr eleganter, komplexer Islay, eher South Coast Aromen, sehr außergewöhnliche Nase, auch wenn er sicher jung ist wirkt er wesentlich älter. farblich hell, aber Farbe ist eben nicht alles, schöne Balance zwischen Rauch, Früchte, Sherry und Küstenaromen.

Kommentar: Nach dem ersten Riechen an der Flasche wunderte es, dass dieser Whisky nicht rot, sondern fast so hell ist wie der Specially Selected. Ein warmer rauchiger Sherrygeschmack, der auch Tiefe hat.
