Tamnavulin Sauvignon Blanc is post-matured in former Sauvignon Blanc white wine barrels after maturing in American oak barrels.
Tamnavulin was built in 1966 in the rural village of Tomnavoulin, Scotland. Almost three decades later, it was closed again. After extensive renovation, the reopening was celebrated in 2007.

    Aroma: Sweet Vanilla Fruit Grape Die Süße von Vanille und hellen Früchten. Und nach einiger Zeit finden sich sogar tatsächlich ein paar grüne Trauben.

    Geschmack: Malt Sweet Fruit Spices Wieder sehr süß und fruchtig. Ganz entfernt ein paar Gewürze. Insgesamt halt eher mild, aber zum Glück bleibt es über der Grenze zur Wässrigkeit.

    Abgang: Sweet Fruit Berries Grape Spices Süß, beerig, traubig. Und nun auch stärkerer Gewürzeinschlag. Angenehm, aber der Abgang hält nicht zu lange an.

    Kommentar: eine positive Überraschung. Ja, man hat hier junges Zeug mit Farbstoff, nur 40% und Kühlfilterung im Glas. Aber es ist halt Einsteigerklasse. Und dafür ist es dann doch sehr angenehm und gut trinkbar. Preis-Leistung kann man hier als einfach gut bewerten.
