Timorous Beastie Phantom Smoke 2025

The experienced team at independent bottler Douglas Laing has impressively combined this peated Highland malt with classic whisky that has matured over a long period of time in heavily burnt casks with what is known as alligator char. The term "alligator char" refers to the highest degree of charring that occurs on the inside of oak casks when they are burnt out. The thick, cracked layer of char, reminiscent of the skin of an alligator, combined with peated whisky gives Timorous Beastie whisky a whole new dimension and unleashes flavours never before seen in a Timorous Beastie dram. Crackling with notes of smouldering peat smoke, spices with intense roasted flavours and burnt oak, infused with a surprising sweetness and the malty, honeyed charm of the Scottish Highlands. The natural cask strength of 54.2% vol. gives the blended malt whisky additional authenticity.
