Product description
The Yellowstone brand was launched as early as 1872. The whiskey is named after the American national park called Yellowstone, which the Limestone Branch distillery is committed to preserving. In the 1960s, Yellowstone Select Bourbon was one of the best-selling bourbons in the USA. The distillery wants to build on these old successes. To achieve this, four and seven year old Kentucky Straight Bourbons are blended together. The mash consists mainly of corn. Rye and malted barley are used for the spiciness and creaminess.

    Kommentar: Was definitiv heraussticht ist das Kirscharoma- auch im Abgang. Für 46,5 % vol ist mir der Alkoholgeschmack etwas zu dominant. Kein schlechter Whisky aber Preis/Leistung... sollte nicht über 40 EUR sein.
    Ich hätte ihn etwas länger im Fass gelassen oder noch mal in ein gebrauchtest Fass für 1-2 Jahre umgefüllt.

    Aroma: man nehme 80% JimBeam, Schütte 20% Jack Daniels drauf und lagere das ganze in der Art und Weise wie geschehen.

    Geschmack: sehr alkoholisch und viel bums für einen Bourbon

    Abgang: lang, sehr alkoholisch

    Kommentar: siehe oben (zerreißt mich, aber mit dem ganzen "ein Hauch von Frucht und Karamell mit Zedernholz und Kirsche im Abgang-Chichi" konnte ich noch nie was anfangen)

    Kommentar: Im Grunde ein ganz "netter" Whiskey. Was ich persönlich nicht so mag, ist die Alkoholnote, die zwar im Aroma nicht so durchkommt, aber den Geschmack und Abgang prägt. Es gibt günstigere, die den Alkohol besser einbinden. Die Süße finde ich kaum. Eine unidentifizierbare Fruchtigkeit ist zwar da, aber eher nebensächlich. 3 Sterne für einen netten Bourbon.
