Description du produit
Bowmore's Single Malts are moderately smoky by Islay standards at around 35 ppm. The use of sherry casks also gives the bottlings a complex and fruity character. The distillery itself describes this whisky not only as its well-known standard bottling but also as 'vanilla ice cream by the campfire'. The new design of the Bowmore 12 year old is kept in simple black colours. The lines incorporated are intended to express the history of the spirit in the clearest and most authentic way. The predominant use of the colour black, which has been a trademark for decades, is also a tribute to one of the iconic whiskies - the Black Bowmore distilled in 1964. In addition, the lines could symbolise the nature of the peat soil that gives Bowmore bottlings their pleasantly smoky taste.

nachdem es eh der gleiche inhalt wie beim alten 12er ist:

was für eine frechheit als vorwand eine neue flasche zu entwerfen um den preis (für alle alter) so drastisch zu erhöhen... beim 12er fallt es vielleicht noch nicht so auf - aber beim 18er, puh, happig...
auch wenn ich ihn mag: ungut, unsympathisch, kauf ich nicht mehr.

glenmorangie hingegen (nur als beispiel) erhöht den 10er auf 12 jahre und REDUZIERT den preis. das ist sympathisch und kundenorientiert.

Geschmack: Wäremnd und mit frischen Früchten und Akzenten dunkler Schokolade und feinen Torfrauchnoten.

Abgang: Langanhaltend mit süßlichen Facetten von Rauch.

Geschmack: Honey Vanilla Chocolate Fruit Peat Smoke

Abgang: Dark Chocolate Sherry

Kommentar: Klasse 12er, hat von allem etwas. Total rund und lecker. Der Rauch ist niemals aufdringlich er hat eine angenehme süße mit Sherry und ein wenig Eiche. Kann ich nur empfehlen. Auch für Anfänger geeignet.

Aroma: kaum im glas, schon ist der rauch im zimmer wahrnehmbar. dann kommt karamell, faßnoten und eine leichte fruchtigkeit auf. dabei schön süß und der rauch ist gut eingebunden und nicht zu heftig.Peat Smoke Caramel Oak Fruit Sweet

Geschmack: hier ist der rauch etwas dominanter. es sind noten von malz, ein wenig karamell mit maritimen noten vermischt und auch faßnoten merkbar. dabei nicht so süß und eher trocken.Peat Smoke Malt Caramel Maritime Notes Oak

Abgang: lang, dabei trocken mit rauch, salz, jod und faßnoten. im nachklang etwas süßer mit vollmilchschokolade.Peat Smoke Salt Iodine Oak Chocolate Sweet

Kommentar: der 12 er von bowmore ist ein echter klassiker. er stellt keine zu hohen ansprüche an den verkoster und bietet dabei ganz schön viel für sein geld. wer den nicht so dominanten und gut eingebundenen rauch sucht, ist hier genau richtig. gefällt mir sehr gut. dafür 4 sternchen.
