Arôme Notes of sea spray and orchard combine with elegant peat smoke flavours. Dried heather, camomile, vanilla pod and roasted almonds follow with cedar wood, smoked paprika and maritime iodine notes.
Bouche Elegant peat smoke, salted caramel and honeyed melon with accents of apricot, malt sugar, cinnamon and star anise. Flavours of sea salt, toffee, chocolate and coconut merge into an earthy minerality.
Finale Very long-lasting, with lots of peat smoke and facets of black pepper and sticky toffee complemented by sea salt and a complex finish.

The Octomore 16.1 is an exceptional Islay whisky from the renowned Bruichladdich Distillery. This heavily peated Single Malt matured for 5 years entirely in first-fill Bourbon casks, developing its notes of salted caramel, melon and apricot, complemented by nuances of chocolate and coconut. The fine mineral depth and a long-lasting finish with plenty of smoke round off the flavour profile of the Islay whisky. The Octomore series has been produced by Bruichladdich since 2008 and is considered one of the smokiest whisky series in the world. With extremely high phenol levels and innovative cask maturation, the company has always set standards for intensity and complexity in the Islay whisky segment. Like all bottlings from the Bruichladdich Distillery, Octomore 16.1 is bottled without chill-filtration and without colouring in order to preserve the natural diversity of flavours. With a smoke content of 101.4 PPM, fans of heavily smoky whiskies (Peatheads) will once again get their money's worth.
