This 14-year-old Ardmore Single Malt comes from the popular 100 Proof Edition from Signatory Vintage. The series is known for its high-quality bottlings with a strong 57.1% vol. and excellent value for money - ideal for lovers of intense, authentic single malts. Behind the edition is Andrew Symington, owner of Signatory Vintage and the Edradour Distillery, who, thanks to his access to one of the largest independent cask stocks in Scotland, creates highly recognisable whiskies with a strong character with his team of experts. The term "100 proof" refers to the tradition of sailors: above this alcohol strength, gunpowder remains flammable even when wet, which can therefore be seen as historical proof of quality. With its combination of smoky profile, fruity accents and strong alcohol content, this Ardmore 14 Year Old 100 Proof is a special single malt for connoisseurs, collectors and anyone who appreciates intense whiskies with character.

Kommentar: Der Rauch ist von Anfang an nicht übermäßig stark und lässt für mein Empfinden im Glas - aber auch in der Flasche - relativ schnell an Intensität nach. Für mich als jemand, der es wenn überhaupt nur leicht rauchig mag, sicher kein Fehler. Zudem entfaltet der Whisky eine angenehme Sherrysüße. Wie bei allen Signatory Whiskys, die ich bisher verkostet habe (und es waren doch schon einige) ist auch hier das PLV sehr gut. Wer sherrysüße und ein wenig rauchige Whiskys mag kann den hier also bedenkenlos kaufen und genießen. Für mich 4 Sterne mit Potential nach oben, je nachdem wie sehr man rauchige Whiskys schätzt.
