	Aroma	Fresh and soft, very complex. Exotic fruits (pineapple), some petrol, medicinal (arnica) and milky notes of coconut are revealed. Agave blossom and vegetal notes are added over time.
	Proef	Full-bodied and round. Intense vanilla and herbal notes (sugar cane, agave, gentian root), menthol and tropical fruit (candied banana) follow. Walnut flavours and minerals are added.

This 3-year-old rum is produced using unique and partly secret methods that have remained unchanged since the 18th century. What is known is that the initially long fermented molasses rum was distilled on Pot Still stills and matured in the tropical climate of Jamaica in former Bourbon barrels. The HLCF Marques (Hampden Light Continental Flavoured) label stands for rums from the Hampden Estate Distillery, which at 46% vol. are also suitable for more sensitive palates. Typical for Jamaica and the Hampden distillery, the rum creations are sometimes bottled with up to 1600 milligrams of ester per litre, which is of course a challenge for untrained taste buds. The 1753 Pure Single Jamaican Rum is much milder and impresses with a fruity mix of floral herbal notes, menthol accents and nutty facets of ginger and cinnamon.
