Thy Vesterhav is an exceptional whisky inspired by the rugged North Sea coast of Denmark, bringing the unmistakable character of the region to every bottle. Maritime smoky notes meet a subtle saltiness, accompanied by bright fruit flavours, creamy vanilla and warm spices. The result is a well-balanced, classic whisky with a Nordic profile and authentic Thy character. For this peated whisky, the distillery uses a special combination of peated and unpeated malt as well as beechwood-smoked malt from the Imperial and Odyssey barley varieties. This elaborate production process creates a multi-layered whisky with a pleasant smokiness, elegant spiciness and a harmonious balance between sweetness and coastal flavours. Thy Vesterhav is not only a characterful delight for lovers of smoky whisky, but also the distillery's first major peated bottling. Die Thy Whisky Distillery liegt im Nordwesten Dänemarks am Rand des Thy-Nationalparks und befindet sich auf dem Bio-Bauernhof der Familie Gyrup. Die familiengeführte Brennerei gehört zu den wenigen echten Single-Estate-Destillerien Europas, bei denen der gesamte Whisky auf einem einzigen Anwesen entsteht. Das Getreide stammt vollständig aus eigenem biologischem Anbau, gemälzt, destilliert und gelagert wird direkt vor Ort nach dem „Grain-to-Bottle“-Prinzip.
