The Ron Millonario 15 Reserva Especial matures for up to 15 years in oak barrels using the solera method. The solera system is mainly known from wine, brandy and sherry maturation. Nowadays, however, it is also used for the maturation of whisky and rum. In this process, oak barrels are stacked on top of each other and a third of the fully matured contents is bottled from the bottom row. The partially emptied barrels are then filled with younger rum from the next higher row. The procedure is repeated until the highest row is empty and refilled with fresh distillate. This gives the Ron Millonario 15 Reserva Especial its full-bodied and fine flavour profile. The packaging is made of hand-woven toquilla palm fibres from the town of Catacaos in northern Peru, reflecting Peruvian tradition and folk craftsmanship.
Ron Millonario is a Peruvian rum with a long history and tradition. In 1904, farmers in Hacienda Agrocila de Chivlayo began to grow their sugar, sell it and process it into rum in their own refinery. A century later, the Italian bottler Fabio Rossi discovered the land of the Incas and Ron Millonario on a journey. He and his brother exported the rum to Europe and finally to the whole world.

    Kommentar: Der Millonario 15 spiegelt für mich eher den "klassischen" Stil aus Cuba und der Dom.Rep. wieder, nur, dass er etwas leichter und frischer daherkommt. Ansonsten das Übliche: nicht ZU süß, etwas Herbe und Eiche. Sehr rund und süffig. Daher solide 4 Sterne
