Aroma Notes of vanilla, caramel, creamy lemonade, sweet nectar and oak intertwine with layers of dried fruit and warming spices.
Taste Balanced with spices such as nutmeg, cinnamon and candied ginger, accompanied by a hint of brown sugar.
Finish Soft and buttery. The flavour slowly fades.

Product description
The 18-year-old Tullibardine matured in a combination of first-fill Bourbon and sherry casks and, after the 15-year-old, is the latest addition to the Highland distillery's standard range. Illustrations by Scottish artist Bryan Angus adorn the outer packaging of the Tullibardine 18 year old and depict scenes and features of the distillery itself, making it a lovely gift.

Tullibardine is actually not the oldest Scottish Distillery but regarding the first step of the Whisky production it is one of the Methuselahs of the business: The visit of King James 4th of Scotland of the local brewery situated here before is known as the first recorded purchase of Beer. That was in 1488, long before in 1949 the first spirit was distilled here at Tullibardine in Perthshire. read more

Kommentar: Im Vergleih zum 15 ist der 18 geschmacklich weniger intensiv. Besser gesagt: Du musst ihn länger im Mund halten, bis die Aromen sich entfalten. Was die Würzigkeit betrifft ist er milder als der 15, bei dem die Würze eine gewisse Schärfe hat. PLV ok.

Aroma: im Aroma kommt eine leichter saurer Apfel, Vanille und Toffee mit einem Hauch von Sherry. Die offizielle Umschreibung cremige Limonade trifft es ganz gut.

Geschmack: kräftiger als im Aroma kommen dunkle Früchte, Schokolade und würzige Eichenaromen

Abgang: Langer würziger Abgang

Kommentar: Ich war ein großer Fan von Tulli. Der 15er um 2020/21 war großartig. Darauf wurde der 15er Ende 23 nachgekauft und der 18er dazu geordert. Der 15er war wie bedeckt und blass. Diese blasse Charakteristik ist leider auch im 18er. Alkohol nicht gut eingebunden. Für mich einer der schwächsten 18er am Markt…schmeckt und riecht nach ausgelutschten Bourbon- und schwachen Sherryfässern. Kein Vergleich zu einigen Murray-Abfüllungen

Aroma: Vanille, Toffee, frischer Sherry (ganz deutlich Walnüße) und Trockenfrüchte (z. B. Pflaumen). 18 Jahre sehr deutlich spürbar im Aroma.

Geschmack: Vielseitig, ausgeprägt und süffig: Sherrylastig (Nußig und süß), Vanillebonbons, Karamell-Apfelkuchen, Nußkuchen mit Rosinen, ....

Abgang: Maximal mittel: Eine würzige Süße (Marshellows) mit toller Sherryfracht (Rosinen) umschliesst den Gaumen.

Kommentar: Eine der besten Tullibardine! Preis ist in Ordnung. Die Umverpackung und Flasche ist einfach exzellent! Die Jahrgangsangabe finde ich ebenfalls eine tolle Sache! Trotzdem ist er in meinem Ranking der Besten 18 Jährigen Single Malts (die Ich persönlich probiert habe) nur im Mittelfeld zu finden! Was soll ich sagen bzw. Weise schreiben: Es gibt nunmal Bessere auf dem Markt (Stichwort: Glenmorangie, Macallan, Highland Park, etc).
